Ivo Bergmeister in collaboration with skilful artists from the Val Gardena carve the basic models: true works of art arising from the creative energy of the individual, always diverse and innovatory. From these subjects the shape is cast in bronze for later reproduction by pantograph.

| Wood from the Alpine forests is the most suitable for carving. |
 |
| The rough wood is cut, divided into shafts and then reduced to smaller blocks to accommodate the size of the carvings. |
 |
| The wooden blocks are shaped by pantograph that, guided by the skilful hands of an expert craftsman, allows the creation of carvings that are then refined in the smallest detail by the sculptor. |

The final stage of a woodcarving is decoration. Carvings are painted completely by hand, with patience and extreme care. The colors and the different techniques of painting used vary from carving to carving: therefore each carving that leaves the artist’s hands is an individual and unique piece.
